Description

Sita means "furrow" in Sanskrit - the Hindu goddess found in a ploughed field by King Janaka and raised as a daughter of the earth, later the wife of Rama. Black onyx beads, rice-shaped and rounded, are strung in 18k Gold Vermeil and closed with a toggle; onyx takes its name from the Greek for fingernail and was cut by Greece, Egypt, and Rome for seals and cameos.
